Some go pro clips from earlier this year. Will be more of this soon – tomorrow I leave for Indonesia (again). Hello tropical water.

Salty times in Indo!
So Pax is away doing family things in New Zealand while I have a very awesome super cool visit from Sydney – Sofia is here enjoying some tropical waters, chillaxing, waves and gado-gados.

Some fun waves with the girls this morning 🙂
Some Fun Ones With The Porta
Got some fun waves on my boy Portas on our last day in Medewi. We had it all to ourselves for about 40min, till the pro tour come out (haha).. The last 2 days were the best super fun and bigger but today was the only day we got photos 🙂 IT was fun surfing with the Ports over the week, next time i hope we have a month or two … 🙂
Got a little over confident the late take off 🙁
Fun
That romantic getaway to… Ubud!
So I spent the last 30 hours in bed with a fever looking something like this (photo below – not above) and feeling extremely sorry for myself 😉
When life finally came back to me we thought it would be a good idea to do one of those romantic getaway trips you know. Go to Ubud get our chakras in shape and just chill out for a few days until we head back to Java. For you guys who don’t spend a lot of time in Bali, Ubud is the holistic, yoga, wellbeing and hippy mecca of Bali. It’s usually quite cool but this time he he well we stayed a night and decided to come back to the coast 🙂
This place where we stayed looks really cool and it was just that it was pricy for us (but it was like the 5th place we looked at and I was just to tired to keep looking ha) and there was a not a proper wall to the room next door – so much for the romance – ha (again). Like just a divider and a curtain, water in the toilet not working properly and yeah well.
Nice and purple I’m happy to be back on my feet again 🙂
The long road back to Bali
Oh well my flight back from Perth couldn’t land in Bali because of the ashes from the volcano. So I ended up in Surabaya for the night which was ahhh interesting. A lot of upset people being quite rude (shame on you’s) to the Air Asia staff that did such an awesome job organising transport and accommodation for all the 200+ passengers. The next morning there was still no news on when the airport might re-open so I decided to get on a domestic flight down to Banyuwangi and then travel overland back to Bali. This was a brilliant idea until I rocked up at the airport in Surabaya again just to find out that the airport in Banyuwangi was also closed… due to the ashes. After a bit of hassle getting a ticket refund (I was quite stoked getting the last seat on this flight an hour earlier) me an a kiwi girl decided to get a transport down to Banyuwangi instead of waiting around for airports to open. Oh yeah what didn’t go wrong? It took us two hours to leave Surabaya going back and forward to the airport picking up people and luggage being dropped on the road and picking more people up. Then the van broke down in the middle of the night when heading for the ferry and we ended up spending an hour at the mechanics (lot’s of love to Indo where you can actually find a mechanic at that time). About 18 hours since I left Surabaya I was finally dropped off in Medewi to catch up with the guys again. So happy 🙂
Sunset bombs
Some pics from last weekends swell below. There’s supposed to be the biggest swell since 2013 hitting Indonesia over the weekend, should be interesting 🙂
Coffee in Watu Karung – the paradise?
Took the scooty for a trip to Watu Karung to have a coffee and look at the waves (Watu Karung is the spot for the surfers that’s on the pro tour (the wanna be pro tour), it’s a heavy barrel on a reef and we have some swell so thought it would be good to have a look). So we get there and there’s just one girl out there while the rest of the pro’s are sitting at the little warung having coffee contemplating about maybe going out 🙂 Then another girl paddles out and her first wave is a double barrel – we love watching the girls rip! After that the pro’s got their act together and made a move for the waves.
From Batu Karas to Pacitan
No more mellow rights for us – we decided to make a move and ended up in Pacitan. I’ve been tricked back into surfing left waves again it seems but who cares when it’s this much fun? Just me and one more guy out this morning – I’m so stoked 🙂 Pax is stuck on the beach until tomorrow because of an ear infection…aduhhh what to do. We got some antibiotics and painkillers from the doctor in Cijulang but the ear was to swollen to look into but hopefully we’ll get it sorted here tomorrow.
Day Trip Part 2 – Green Valley
After the green canyon we jumped on the scooters and hit the road for about 30 minuets to find the green valley (easy when you have a guide). But first things first FOOD FOOD FOOD. A little lunch stop and everyone started to feel a lot more happier, even our guide started to talk & move his hangover must have started to get a little bit better. The green Valley is a very cool place, it has a big cave that you can swim into that gets very dark, so dark you (ME) might get a little scared if you swim in to fare. There is also some tree roots you can climb up to ledge, that you can jump from if you like that kind of thing.. If you don’t think the green valley is that cool I have saved the best till last. It has a waterfall that you can jump off, then you can swim under the waterfall into a little cave, just like in the movies. On the way home we stopped for a photo or 10 but to top it all off we got to go over a bamboo bridge, that can only hold one scooter at a time. So i was hopping all the pancakes I have been eating was not going to make me to heavy and make us end up in the river…

Day Trip Part 1- Green Canyon
Today we tried to be like most tourists and do a day trip. So we got a little gang together and our new local friend & guide for the day to show us round. First stop was the corner cafe to get a second breakfast as 50% on the gang stayed up way to late having drinks with our guide, who was now so hangover that I think he needed to die or at lest sleep for 3 days… So after a late start we hit the road to our first stop the green canyon. To get to the canyon you need to get a boat for about 30 minutes its a nice chilled ride up the river, then you need to park the boat & pay extra, so you can swim and explore the canyon, but its worth it. The boat ride was awesome but exploring the canyon was amazing ..
The Gang almost ready to roll 🙂 ZzzzzZzzZzzzz
Jumping from the rock was cool, I don’t why, but the rock is super smooth not like any of the other rocks in the canyon. There is a very small water fall, that falls onto the rock so i think there mast be something in the water, but thats just my guess 🙂
Look over there its a another tourist ……..
Our guide sleeping we took about 10 photos before we woke him up. He was looking all Zen, but I think it was just his hangover working overtime ……
Evening Sliding in Batu Karas
Swell – check. Current – check. Arms almost falling off – check. Some photos from tonight, this waves is so nice and mellow (lot of longboarders) but then the inside section sort of walls up faster and then if there’s some swell around you can surf it to the next bay which some of these guys been doing tonight.

Longboarding With Pax Take #1
We have been here in Batu Karas for about 2 weeks and I was starting to get a little over it. There has been no waves and then when the waves came there was a surf comp on grrrrr. I was thinking what to do then Lisa (legend) one of the ozzy girls we meet let me take out her longboard. It took about 3-4 waves to get the hang of it and then I started having fun fun fun.. The next day off I went to rent a longboard for the week, there was a lot of people dropping in (Sara was even one) but I still got a wave or 3 on my WMD (9.4 longboard). Here are some of the photos from my afternoon surf on my newly rented longboard with a Gopro mount haha lucky we have a Gopro ready for action..
Almost losing my head to someone not holding on to there board…
Getting a little drop in LOvE by SaRa (Girls first) haha x
Morning bliss
Got up before the sun today to get a surf in before the local surf competition kicked off. Rolled out of bed and into the ocean. Aduhhh the waves where the best we had here so far – I had one of my best rights ever – I’m so stoked 🙂

24 hours in Canggu – Birthday Crash for Pax
I was to tired to drive all the way back to Kuta yesterday so we decided to stop in Canggu for a night and celebrate Paxitos b-day.
Having birthday brekkie at Canteen after two hours on the scooters from Medewi with to much time behind trucks spewing their fumes in your face.
Drinks and live music at Old Mans in Canggu – this is where the hipsters hang.
Thanks team Ireland for supporting 🙂 Much love!
Cruising around in Canggu for a bit. Good food, awesome coffee and nice views.
& that’s it now we’re at the airport heading for Melbourne and then Sydney. I’m glad we’ve had a few good surf sessions, time to catch up with a heap of people and yeah sampai jumpai lagi Bali!
The rabbit fan has passed out on me for the second time today….
Hammocking and hanging out
It doesn’t take long to get used to the traveling life again, we’re spending a lot of time doing not to much which takes up a lot of time for some reason. Since we spent a lot of time here there’s a lot of familiar faces and Bali is just one of those places that people come back to and tend to stay for a long time so we’ve been pretty busy doing some catch ups with friends we haven’t seen in a while.
Surfboard parking outside room number 9 – sembilan.
Stopping by Maruf and his lovley wife Dewi who has a cute little warung up the street for a coffee and some food.
Maruf does surf trips to G-land (Pax has been last time) and Red Island – much recommended. This time we don’t have enough time for it.
Picking up our washing – now we smell good again.
Longest left hander in Bali? Anyways so much fun!
Another coffee – tastes so good after surf 🙂
Bintang and sunset time
SURF FUN SUN
After a great afternoon surf its nice to come back to the best outdoor shower ever.
Great way to finish the day a chill in the hammock and watching the sun go down.. xx
Bogans lost in Bali
3 days in Bali so far and we’ve been busy little bees. How crazy is the new air port? A lot of things changed here but a lot of things are still the same. We stayed the first few nights in Kuta just sorting bikes out and Pax had the very important Grand Final to watch. This morning we got up super early and made our way up to Medewi after having a quick look at the waves in Balian, and got here about eight or nine and not to many people out in the surf. Super fun 3-4 feet waves bit windy but not to bad. So much fun easy the best surf I’ve had all year 🙂 So stoked. My skin feels like it’s shrunk a bit. My sholders are sooo sore. And I’m so happy to be back 🙂
First night in Kuta, all that was left was a fan room with two singel beds, so romantic 🙂
We found long lost traveling friend Niki to come watch the game with us.
Saying hello to the best ding repair in Kuta, Narukis surf shop.
Bali style driving on the foot path 🙂 Thank you for the photo Niki.
Petrol stop on our way to Medewi, not kidding we finally found petrol at the forth petrol station we tried, the first three was all out.
We’re staying at Medewi Beach Inn, new since we where here the last time and they even have wi-fi! 200 000 RP per night – done deal.
Post surf eating Pax is snaking all my Beng-bengs.
This just in – Medewi beach now has a shower (where I manage to drop and ding my board)
From where I’d rather be
Winter over here’s just started, it’s not winter like back in Sweden with minus 22 degrees and snow but still I’m freezing, they’ve forgotten about isolation and things like that over here… In our unit it’s colder than outside I’m pretty sure.
I’ve brought out my winter booties from the closet for yesterdays surf, the water is not that bad just the bloody wind makes it so chilly. I miss tropical waters, bikini surfs, nasi goreng, pocari sweat. Some photos from Bali below, it’s been way to long now. It used to be like my second home and now I haven’t been over for more than a year…
